Private View End of Coal Exhibition

Maria NilssonComment

It was a great opening night for the End of Coal Exhibition yesterday. We had an extra cause for celebration as it was announced, only the day before, that the UK's remaining coal-fired power stations will be shut by 2025. The exhibition is on until Sunday 22nd November at House of Tamman, 5 Hastings street, WC1H 9PZ London. I created three paper cut artworks for the show called Wind, Wave and Sun. They are all available to buy so please e-mail me (maria@maria-nilsson.com) if you are interested.

Yesterday Rebecca Hunter and I sold our prints at Nunhead Fair on the Green.

Afterwards we stumbled upon a lovely art show held in a disused pub that is under refurbishment. Artists included Dirk Larsen, Beatrix Blaise, Richard Ashton, Oran Maguire, Chris Concalves and Antimo Magnotta.

Beautiful art, installations and music in a great venue. A nice way to end a day of trading.

Iceland illustrations

Maria NilssonComment

I have just completed a few illustrations from my trip to Iceland in December. The landscape was breathtaking and everyone was so friendly. We visited just before christmas and learned all about the Yule lads and the Yule Cat. Icelandic kids that have been naughty risk being eaten by the Yule Lads' mother Gryla. Santa seems pretty lame in comparison now.

Prints of these illustrations are available to buy in the Drawn Together Art shop.
